a hot topic in the media today, bullying has become a national crisis and led to legislation that requires schools to not only get involved, but also take steps to prevent persistent, pervasive or severe acts of bullying. Berard Law has responded with three training sessions that provide tactics and procedures for complying with legal mandates as well as methods to prevent or minimize the effects of bullying. AWARENESS TRAINING
What is bullying? What forms does it take? Are there signs to watch out for as an educator or school administrator? This program is geared towards raising bullying awareness for administrators, teachers, staff and students.
INTERVENTION & COMPLAINT MANAGEMENT PRACTICES
How do you stop bullying in its tracks and avoid complicated legal action? What is the importance of creating a legally fit paper trail in this process? This program, specifically designed for all school administrators and staff, will answer these questions and more in an attempt to diffuse bullying and protect school districts and administrators from costly legal matters.
INVESTIGATION AT A SITE & DISTRICT LEVEL
What happens when a school district is faced with a bullying investigation? How do you conduct a thorough, impartial investigation of bullying allegations and enact a complete system of procedures, forms and checklists that are legally and educationally compliant? This program will teach administrators, Title IX officers and designated investigative teams all of the aspects involved in a harassment investigation.
